There are two primary reasons for starting an alumni program:

• To keep fathers connected to a positive environment that facilitates continued growth after they complete a fatherhood program,
• To provide a credible, trusted group of fathers who can recruit fathers into a fatherhood program, encourage fathers currently enrolled in a program to maintain their participation, and, in some instances, to act as guides or mentors for fatherhood program participants.
